Rooms were of small size and shabby, but again in need of some tlc - especially the bathroom with dirty and cracked tiling. As for the hotel, well there wasn't one. For those who are afraid of cockroaches avoid St Patrick hotel the wardrobe and the other furniture are all full of cockroaches excrement. It is disgusting to see the bathroom ceiling
stuffed with large black cockroaches.
The Hotel is a 15 minute stroll from Victoria what can only be called a very small, town which is NOT in any way geared up for any form of tourism. We found one Chinese restaurant, the rest appeared to be tapas bars. There was an internet cafe and everything else can only be classed as "local shops" for the residents of the village, which all closed between 1.00 and 5.30 p.m. No night life to speak of, unless you want to sit in a tapas bar with the locals.
The beach was something else. Described as "long and small" it was indeed. However, it's shingle not sand, full of litter and broken glass and if you're really unfortunate you come across dog excrement too! Went for a walk on it once, that was enough.
St. Patrick is not a place to return to and not one to recommend to even your worst enemy. Avoid.

decisions, decisions there are a multitude of inexpensive cafes and restaurants around Xlendi Bay, and therefore no need to book half board in any of the hotels as you will want to eat in a different place every night! Best fish restaurant we found was in the far right corner of the bay, Ta Karolina.
Xlendi Xlendi is a lovely, picturesque bay. It is a bit out of the way but it is nice to go and enjoy a coffee at one of the many coffee shops/restaurants on the promenade.
BUSES tHE BUSES ARE CHEAP AND SO USER FREINDLY. YOU CAN GET TO MOST PLACES ON GOZO BY BUS. BUT BEWARE- THE BUSE TIMETABLE CHANGES ON OCTOBER 1ST AND THE WINTER SERVICE IS VERY LIMITED. CARS ARE EASY TO HIRE AND FOR THE BRITISH THE BONUS IS THEY DRIVE ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE ROAD!
