Top Local Tips for Gozo
Arriving in Malta (another island) at 9pm and getting to hotel on Gozo by 10.45 We booked our transfer over the internet before arriving, this meant that we didn't need to queue up in the airport to book a taxi transfer, I couldn't understand if the transfer bus to the gozo ferry terminal did run, but with a 30 minute taxi transfer why risk it, the cheapest online transfer was for £9 sterlin per person. We only had a ten minute wait at the ferry terminal for the 10.15 ferry (timetables change so don't bank on this being there for you!) We also had a taxi booked for the onwards journey, we spoke with another couple who arrived in parallel with us who hadn't booked the onwards taxi, and they said there was only one taxi waiting (but at least there was one!) During our stay people described the two hour bus transfers etc, and if you have the money, save your time and book your transfer in advance.
Public transport Go to all the places on the coast-Marselform is a lovely resort-go to the left of the harbour up the steps for a rocky beach with umbrellas etc or to the right up to the fanstatic Qbajjar with amazing salt pans.
buses Buses run less frequently than on Malta but you can get a timetable from the Tourist information which will help you plan your journeys.they run as late as 11 pm in summer.
