Great location. Very central. Good views over bay.
The hotel was very clean but rooms very basic and small. Went on half board basis and the food was poor. Bread rolls, cheese or jam for breakfast. Watered down fruit juice. Fruit (apple, orange)was bad. Had to pat 2.5 euros for cooked breakfast
Evening meal was bland with little choice.

We (mother in 40s and daughter aged 20) are just back from a week's stay in this hotel. Bearing in mind it is only a 2 star place, it really is not worthy of this rating. The chap who collected us from the airport in the middle of the night and the chef were the only two high points of our stay.
The se view from the window - no balcony - was stunning.
The pool was shut - to be re-tiled - but when we said we were not advised of this at the time of booking, we were told it is only open in the summer. This should be clearly stated on the website.
Our bedroom can only be described as shabby and smelly. The sheets and pillow cases were not big enough for the pillows or matresses and the latter two were none too clean and, to be blunt, stank. The bedspreads were even worse and had to be consigned to the top of the wardrobe. The towels, however, were changed every day but it was not until day three that we were issued with a bath mat. The water boiler, situated behind the wardrobe, went on and off all through the night and created very damp patches on the ceiling. The ceiling itself had very dubious tiles interspersed with three low-dosage light bulbs with no shades.
We managed to find a sandy and concrete cove at St Thomas Bay which was a 10 minute walk away.
Malta itself is great and so is the town of Marsascala. There is an excellent bus service throughout the island with a flat far for the central zone of 47 cents and to go further afield, which we did, a fare of 54 cents.
Malta and the Maltese people are just lovely - the hotel Cerviuola is anything but. Do not go there!
