Very disappointing hotel. Not a 4star at all. Airconditioning in room didn't work. Hotel tried to get a bell boy to fix it. Obviously didn't work. Complained several times but nothing was done. They should have at least moved us to a room that did work. Rooms were okay. Nothing great. Triple room had nice bathroom. Lobby nice and breakfast okay.

Top Local Tips for Verona

Verona We had a great stay in Verona, it's now my favourite Italian city, the first one I've been to where I didn't feel as a tourist I was an easy target to rip off, with extortionate food prices ( yes I do mean you Venice, Rome etc ).We never got bored with wandering around the town, always finding places we hadn't seen before.There is a five church ticket you can buy for 10 euro's, which was very good value, even for an athiest. There are plenty of places to eat, our favourites were the San Matteo Church (converted) just off Via Catullo and Olivo on Piazza Bra, for a good cheap meal go to Brek a couple of doors down from Olivo on the Piazza. You'll have to get your own food (self service) but you'll pay a lot less and the food is cooked freash in front of you. We were there over the New Year although very cold with a little snow the Piazza was a great place to see in the New Year, there was a band playing and fireworks at midnight. Don't miss the Opera in summer, fantastic experience

Places to see You should see Piazza Erbe, good shopping place. Romeo's and Juliette's house, not real but why not see it. Lady's should have a look at Tezenis and Yamamay stores. Eat gelati with yogurt :)

directions from the train station I thought the main drag into town (Porta Nuovo) would be right at the front door of the train station with the same name. Nope. It swings out to the right as you walk out of the train station. The road right in front, past the parking area, curves to the right and takes you to the old town just the same.
