Great Location

from A TripAdvisor Member
great location - right in the middle of verona. Obviously a well-run and efficient hotel. decor was a little 70's but it was well maintained and was spotlessly clean. Facilities and services were good. Staff were very helpful and efficient. They ordered us train tickets, had them delivered to the hotel, added to the hotel bill....all based on a 30 second conversation.

Breakfast was a buffet and had something for everyone. You could eat enough to cover yourself for the day if you were that way inclined!

Perfect!

from RubyCurry
We stayed in this hotel for two nights on 9th/10th December for a wedding. We had adjoining rooms - one double, one twin for us and our two sons. The wedding reception was held at the hotel and most of the wedding guests stayed there too.

The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms spacious and the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a beautiful buffet - I can recommend the superb hot chocolate (think of Willy Wonka's chocolate river!!). We all had a wonderful time and the wedding reception was beautifully managed.

The location couldn't be better - five minute walk from the arena and five minutes to Juliette's balcony. We explored on foot and found the Accademia the perfect base.

Couldn't fault our stay there and would love to go back.

Excellent location, lovely hotel

You couldn't ask for a better location in Verona or a nicer hotel. One of the best hotels I stayed in while in Italy.

Great place to celebrate

from A TripAdvisor Member
We decided to take a mini break to celebrate our son's 21st birthday. There were six of us in the party. All our rooms were very comfortable, clean bathrooms and everything in working order. Afternoon coffee was complimentary in the lounge and the breakfast was superb. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed but their recommendation of a nearby trattoria was an excellent one. We ordered champagne before leaving for the restaurant and it was served to us in the lounge accompanied by plates of nibbles, all included in the price.
Best of all, it made my son's 21st birthday a truly memorable one. Thanks to all the staff at this comfortable, thoughtful and reliable hotel.

Smashing!

from suzigun
This hotel was brilliant - we stayed for a week and I'm not sure that we could fault the hotel or the staff on any score. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the top shopping street which meant that with the windows open there was a real buzz, but the glazing was amazing beacuse with the windows shut there wasn't a sound.

Staff couldn't have been more helpful & certainly treated us much better than I felt we desreved when we retruned tired & cumpled after a busy day's sightseeing.

Lovely room which was spotlessly clean, not just when we arrived but everyday.

Personally I like chocolate cake at breakfast, so no complaints there.

It turned out that the building even got a mention in our guide book as a historic palazzo.

The charge for parking might seem a bit steep but we thought the convenince was well worth it. And there were no complaints when we kept leaving things in the car & had to aks for the staff to retrieve them for us.

All in all a top hotel.

Perfect hotel for our honeymoon!

from SFBayTraveller
My husband and I stayed here on a whim during our trip to Italy last week. Our room was great! It was our honeymoon so they upgraded us and sent us champagne upon our arrival. The hotel was quaint and clean and the buffet breakfast that came with the room was the best we had during our stay in Italy. The location is perfect as well. It's right smack dab in the middle of the shopping area and just a 5 minute walk to the Arena. I will definitely stay here again if I ever go back to Verona.

Lovely hotel in a great location

from mairebeth
we stayed here for 2 nights and found this hotel to be in a great location with very pleasant, helpful and efficient staff. Because of its location we were able to walk to all the sights. The hotel room was nicely decorated with nice bathroom. The hotel overall was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was good and it has a very nice bar area. I would definetly stay here again.

Much Better Than the Website!

from Go4Fun
Stayed at Hotel Accademia in Sept 2005 for two nights. Very close to Piazza Erb and easy walking distance to the Arena and the Gardens. Great restaurants and shopping right outside the front door. The buffet breakfast was outstanding--lots of choices. The beds very good and the room spacious. The shower was divine! The website does not do the hotel justice. Rate was 211E. Enjoy

Immaculately clean and quiet

from CHG30
If you are the sort of person who checks out your room on entering for signs that the maid has cleaned it meticulously, then you're in luck. The most exacting housekeeper in Italy must preside over this hotel. Our room was spotless, the bathroom immaculate and all furnishings and linen as if new. The bed was also very comfortable.

The room looked out onto a quiet street and was perfect. Staff were attentitive to our requests and very helpful. The breakfast buffet was comprehensive with something to suit all tastes.

The hotel is in a good central location and also has the added benefit of free internet useage should you require it. A great base to see Verona from.

Excellent Choice

from SJayinCT
An excellent hotel with a very professional and cooperative staff. The hotel is well located in the center of the tourist area. Rooms are tastefully furnished and spacious. Upon checking in we found that the air conditioning in our room was not working; we were quickly given a new and upgraded room with no hassle. The breakfast included with the room was excellent.

Top Local Tips for Verona

Supermarket There is a PAM supermarket just outside the northern gate of the Piazza Bra; turn right off the Corsa Porta Nuovo. You'll pay much less for water, etc than 100 metres away in the Piazza. And there's an excellent ice-cream place (take-away) just past the turning. E1.20 for the smallest cone (plenty big enough) and it's wonderful stuff...

Romeo and Juliet There are a few sites around - notably Juliet's balcony and her tomb, that are a total waste of time, we went prepared to be disappointed, so we had no expectations. The Greppia restaurant that I mentioned above is great, and the hotel restaurant is a good recommendation if you don't want to do too far when you first arrive.

Travelling in winter The weather was very kind to us. We had clear sunny days and not as busy as other times of the year. Verona would still be fine to walk around in with an umbrella!
