Eating in Verona It might not be the least expensive, but the Osteria Sgarzarie was the highlight of our trip food wise. Excellent service, wonderful food, good wines, lovely location. Local delicacies.

Dining Is Expensive and Not Particularly Good The hotel recommended a restaurant to us,which judging by the number of diners,is well regarded. We did not think it was at all good and it was expensive. Compared with Venice,another city in the Veneto region,I thought the dining was far inferior and more expensive. In fact,dining in Venice seemed much less expensive,perhaps because of the competition from the hundreds of restaurants! In fact,most things seem expensive in Verona,from hotels to restaurants to shopping! Why not spend the night in Venice and visit Verona for the day. Most people do the opposite thinking that it is so expensive in Venice. I feel that it is exactly the opposite.With competition comes lower prices as well as higher quality.
