Top Local Tips for Vernazza

Hiking between Vernazza and Corniglia If you plan to hike between Vernazza and Corniglia, take the train or boat to Corniglia and hike back to Vernazza. The trail from Corniglia to Vernazza is mostly down hill after a brief uphill hike at the beginning, however if you go from Vernazza to Corniglia, you hike uphill most of the way with only the very end downhill

Hike from Vernazza to Monterosso The hike from the town of Vernazza to the next town over of Monterosso al Mare had some of the most spectacular scenery I have ever seen. We were up high on the cliffs above the ocean and hiked down to a beach. It would be a bit treacherous for young children, but was perfect for my two teenagers, who loved swimming in the beautiful water at the end of the hike.

Town close to station Vernazza is probably the only town in the Cinque Terre where the hub of the town and consequently the best accommodations are very close to the train station. If this is important to you, stay in Vernazza.
