How to get there Allow contigency time for your transfer from Malpensa if you dont us ethe shuttle bus you have to pre-book (Ali Bus). I don't like travelliing by coach, so we chose a train option. Make sure you check timetable detail and access the Trenitalia information. If you arrive at Malpensa (MXY) you have to get a bus to Gallarate station (form terminal 1 - it is not well sign posted). They are not as frequent as ohers have said - we waited over 45 mins, got annoyed so got a taxi to Gallarate then picked up the train to Verbania Pallanza. You then get a taxi from there, or there are different local buses that service the towns on the lake (we didn't know about these) which would also take you to Intra. Expect to pay €24 for each of these taxi journeys to make connections. Just make sure you allow a bit of extra time for your journeys, and ask the hotel staff to confirm things for you.
