Far from Venice and the Staff are crooks

I recently stayed at the Annia Parkhotel because it was affordable and I thought it was near Venice. In fact the only way to get ot Venice from the Hotel is to either drive your own car or pay 30 euro for a taxi. They do offer a "Free Airport Transfer", but this is not the case. I was offered a free ride to the airport, which is only 500 meters away from the hotel, but upon arriving at the airport the driver demanded I give him 5 euro and then followed me to the door of the airport when I refused. BEWARE, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU PLAN TO SEE VENICE.

I thought I was in a Science Fiction movie; the most modern, state-of-the-art hotel I have ever stayed in. The standard room was like a suite; it had a spiral staircase upstairs that lead to a loft with a couch and table overlooking both sides of the room. Electricity and locks ran off of cards, not switches or keys. This hotel was minutes from the airport and 30 minutes from center of Venice(10 minutes water boat and 20 minutes by bus). Even though we could have walked to airport, they have a free shuttle that is available 24 hours a day and they will even pick you up when you are just returning from Venice; get off the bus at airport and call them and it minutes they are there. Next time we would stay here and just commute to Venice during the day since there is transportation until 11 PM.

We nervously walked up to the Marriott (along a very busy road) for a fabulous Italian dinner ; the atmosphere was also extremely modern and the food was surprising top notch. I think it is called “Anthony's or Mario's”… I can't remember but it was great food.
