Can a swimming pool be this cold!

The swimming pool was one of the reasons we chose this hotel, unheated, no problem we thought,but the architect put it in a place where it gets almost no sunshine.
Shame, because the hotel is good apart from that. The staff are excellent, and the family area is good as well.
It would also have been helpful to have knownthat you have to book the Venice shuttle the morning before.

Top Local Tips for Venice

from someone who lived in mestre In the main square avoid the bar next to the fountain (twice the price of everywhere else)! Bars do generally close around 11pm so dont expect to get a drink after that! Cheap drinks can be had off the main square down the road next to sephora half the price of drinking at the square and you get lovely food, brushetta, olives, mini pizzas and fresh figs. The man who owns the bar (euro bar) is really lovely and although the bar is probably not the most pretty its where the real italians go! I was not sure which wine I wanted so the owner let me sample as many as I liked, not bad when you're paying a euro 50. Also, dont eat in Venice in the evening, you'll have a much nicer meal and not overpriced in Mestre. The white knight festival in early June is great with lots of live music and for a younger drinking scene go let of the fountain in the main square and through the arch way its an outdoor bar in a little square with loads of comfy sofas and good music.
