We loved the hotel. Excellent service with friendly, professional staff. The breakfast offered a nice variety of different foods with great coffee. If you are lucky and the weather holds, you can enjoy your morning coffee in a qaint courtyard. The room was a bit small, but with a little creativity we managed to feet our luggage just fine. The location of the room was not good though ( it was facing the wall of the next buiding, so we had it shut at all times. We definetely will stay in this hotel again.

Top Local Tips for Venice

Be careful of the murano glass factories The factories pay the hotels to send you "free" of charge to their factories to see them make the glass, etc. While a great adventure, don't feel pressured to buy something at the end of the tour! It is so much more expensive then in the gift shops. ALso, don't have things shipped back, that method can not be trusted!

Music in Venice Home to the legendary opera house La Fenice, Venice has a host of venues for classical & chamber music -- we enjoyed each of those we chose. However, snobs will advise against attending concerts of chamber music in Venice which feature people dressed up in period costumes, or students promoting performances with handbills. Okay, so it's a tad touristy. They are still good fun, and acceptable to all but the most finely tuned ear. Experiment and try different venues. You won't regret it!

Avoid the rain With so many narrow street and with almost every building in fairly shappy state of health I suspect Venice in the rain is a nightmare: drips from gutters and overhanging rooflines and clashes of umbrellas in narrow streets.
