Top Local Tips for Venice

Eat off the beaten track There are so many places to eat in Venice, but anything along the main tourist routes are over-priced and over-processed. One of the nicest experiences was bumping into a little old Venetian lady while struggling with our lonely planet close to the Accademia. Speaking better english than ourselves, she asked if we were lost. We explained we were looking for somewhere nice to eat. She recommended Taverna san Trovaso close in Dorso Duro. It was not even five minutes walk from the Accademia, we had double the amount of food, we had eaten any other night for half the price!

Walking Around Venice is clean, open and very fun to visit. We enjoyed walking around to the small shops and, of course, taking a gondola ride. Easy to get there by train from Milan.
