The hotel is a few minutes walk from the train station, off on a quiet street. Very quiet at night, very clean and a friendly staff. Make sure you ask for a room with bathroom. Makes life much easier! Great patio for breakfast! Convenient location for all your travel needs. We definitely will stay there again.

This hotel was very clean, and is in a great location for anyone who is taking the train to venice, as it is only a few minutes walk from the train station. This was convenient as we didn't have to tote our luggage on the crowded water buses. The people who ran it were very warm and friendly, and the place was very clean.

The hotel is near the railway station and the terminal bus. Italian, english and french are spoken. The hotel is directly managed by the owners and guarantees an excellent service and a pleasant atmosphere. A very good hotel for low budget!

Top Local Tips for Venice

Great Pizzeria We found a great pizzeria over by San Giorgio Palo church. If you are coming from the North (Carneregio side) , go over the bridge before Basilica dei Santi Giovanni e Paolo) and continue past the Church and past the first block of restaraunts. This pizzeria is located on the second or third block on the right. The wine is 6E for a full liter (decent house wine), the pizza is delicious and the service is great. It is named Piramide Pizzeria (Pyramid).

Venice Orange Card It's worthwhile to get Venice card as the waterbus in Venice is really expensive 6euros for single trip, also, they charge 1euro for public toilet (the most expensive that I've ever been!) and you also get museum passes and church passes depending the type of Venice Card you choose. Besides, the definition of 'juniors' in Venice card is slightly different, it's up to 29 years old as opposed to 26 years old in most of other places, hence if you are below 29 like me, you can save even more with Venice card. Ooh... the gondola ride is just ridiculously expensive, try the gondola traghetto shown on the map, they send you across the Grand Canal for only euro0.50 per person. It saved lots of walking, and still you ride on a Gondola (not as posh though) without burning a hole in your wallet

Traghetti These fascinating gondolas take you across the Canal Grande for half a euro - the same way people have been transported in Venice for almost 1000 years.
