I booked Hotel Santa Chiara through the British Airways website along with my flights. On arrival I was greeted by very polite staff who spoke perfect English and were extremely helpful throughout my short stay. The hotel is immaculate and beautifully decorated.The dining room,tastefully done out with good quality table-linen, has a lovely view over the Grand Canal, as did my room, a small single which was very comfortable. The breakfasts were absolutely superb with a large range of foods,including cereals, breads, meats,cheeses, fruits, yogurts, juice coffee etc etc. As a lone female traveller (my daughter was staying elsewhere in Venice with her school choir). I felt extremly comfortable and welcome at this hotel and would certainly recommend it. I stayed for 2 nights in October 2005, and hope to return there one day with my husband, when the weather might be a bit brighter!
