The room we stayed in had a shutter over the outside of the window, so we could not have any daylight coming into the room. Which I found ridiculous.
The TV had about 70+ channels one day, then the next day it had only 29. Don't know what that's about. Most of the channels are fuzzy by the way.
There was a shower, but we were forced to take baths as the shower head was positioned very low down on the wall.
The first morning we went down for breakfast, as it clearly states on our travel documents "bed & breakfast basis". The lady at reception said it is 7 euros each for breakfast. We showed her our documents and wasn't really bothered about what they said. So my boyfriend got a breakfast for 7 euros. I decided I wasn't hungry.
The first day we took our room key out with us when we went into Venice. The next day, an Italian man on reception shouted at us as we were leaving the hotel "KEY?!". We were confused so went over to him and asked what he was talking about. He said we must leave our key at reception everytime we go out. We told him we went out with it yesterday and the lady at reception had no problems with that. He replied with "This isn't your house, it's a hotel".
Many people in Mestre/Venice speak little to no english, so if your planning on going, I suggest you learn alittle Italian, and be prepared for a rude nation.
