Beware this hotel's sleazy practices!

In early March, 2006, I booked 2 rooms at this hotel for a trip to Venice in late May, 2006. I used an internet booking agent and the terms stated: no charges on the credit card until the scheduled date of arrival, and no cancellation penalties if cancelled at least 3 days before the scheduled date of arrival. For a variety of reasons, my group decided to stay in a different hotel in Venice and I canceled the Hotel Lux reservations 6 days after the initial reservation. Despite the fact that the trip is more than 2 months away, the Hotel Lux has charged my card $320.00 which I am now forced to dispute with my credit card company. A very sleazy hotel indeed!

Top Local Tips for Venice

Watch your step! My only gripe with Venice is the amount of dog fouling littering the streets, we were about to enter a beautiful food shop but a dog had done a huge dump outside which completely put me off! The authorities shoulde take note and encourage dog owners to clean up after their pooches! I do!

Safety Venice is one of the safest places i've ever travelled to. Even if travelling alone and walking the streets at night taking in the sights, i've never had a problem in Venice. Just use your common sense and you'll be fine if your female or male.
