Venice in Early March This is a wonderful time to visit Venice -- mild weather, few tourists, better deals on hotels.

map Venice is wonderful and it is so much fun to explore on your own. The maps of Venice that are sold at the tourist shops are pretty bad. I would recommend purchasing a good, clear map before you arrive. Also, the restaurants around San Marco are pretty expensive for what they offer- most charge a cover charge for each person dining. We found the cafes away from the tourist attractions to be much more affordable and offer much better food.
