Top Local Tips for Venice

Apartments Apart of Venice is not so nice We booked an apartment in Venice with Apartments Apart of Venice (www.apartmentsapart.com). They advertised an air-conditioned apartment which was recently renovated. Nothing was further from the truth. The apartment was old, extremely dirty, and not air-conditioned (it was ~100 degrees outside). The bathroom was not functional and the place looked as though it had not been cleaned for ages. We requested our money back given the discrepancy, but this was refused. We hope that this review prevents others from making the same mistake with this company.

Bus or Water Taxi? A bus can take you for 2.50 EUR from Marco Polo airport to Venice up to a point in Piazzale Roma. from there you have to take a vaporetto (water taxi) or pull your lugagge to get to your hotel or apartment. the ride is like 30 minutes as it stops frequently. For 11.00 EUR per person you can take the Leonardo Express water taxi from Marco Polo Airport to Venice and vice versa. The ride is 30 minutes, with very few stops. The only inconvenience is that the Leonardo Express can be taken in designated stops only. Therefore, you need to assess prior to your trip date which transportation system fits best your needs based on your hotel location and accesibility of transportation systems nearby, your health-physical conditions, and your budget. Travel light and comfortable.
