Insulting and rude

I would advise any guests of non-European origin to be careful about staying here. My mother was staying here while I was in Venice at another apartment during the busy Venice Biennale days. Armed with bagfuls of shopping, my Australian friend and I arrived at the lobby where I rang my mother in my room. After several minutes staying at the lobby, we went up the room but was stopped by the counter attendant at the lobby. I asked him to call my mother in her room but all he was interested in was seeing my id. He did not even ask which guests I was looking for. A very rude staff who made no apologies at all during our argument. He was not even interested and accused us of not letting him know. This was after my friend sat down in the lobby while I made the call as he was busy engaged in other business. I have never encountered a hotel staff which is so rude and disinterested. Was he thinking we were about to stay at the tiny room without them knowing. Was he racist because I'm Chinese? Later on that evening, another manager did not even bother to enquire about the problem until we told him off again. It was afterwards that he made some half-[--] apology. Did they do anything about it? no. My Australian friend said the hotel attendent would not have acted like that if I were White. My friend also said the other staff knew what went on as soon as I called on one of them to take the shopping up to my mother's room. At the price they're charging, I've seen better hotel than this. Insulting & rude to say the least. Enough said.
