With apprehension we booked this hotel after reading a bad review. We were MOST pleased. We arrived early, were able to chose which room we preferred and were highly impressed with the upkeep and cleanliness of our room. Our excellent location, view of the Canal and a great breakfast added to our pleasure!

had read other reviews before we stayed at this hotel for one night on route from Airport to Vicenza. We had warned the booking company that we would be late arriving and the staff were really accomodating when we eventually arrived at 1030pm. We were made really welcome and although the room was a bit small for 3 of us it was comfortable and quiet. the breakfast in the morning overlooking the Grand Canal was superb - a great selection of hot and cold food that prepared us well for the days sightseeing and onward journey to Vicenza. This hotel is very close to ferries connecting to most tourist attractions and within 5 mins walk of the station. Far exceeded our expectations - well done Hotel Continental.

After a decision made by internet, there were expectations about what we will find. I must Say that the Hotel is OK with a very good price/quality ratio. Very good location. The staff were kindly and ready to help. I would recommend.

We were part of a 39 person tour that was booked into this hotel. The hotel in general is not too well kept up. Upon our arrival, the air conditioning was 'broken' although it was working well in the dining room. The room was very hot and humid. With the windows open, all kinds of mosquitoes found us even with all the lights off. After continued complaints by our tour director and our tour group indiviuals, the air conditioning was finally turned on for our third and final night in Venice. Our room was hardly the romantic Grand Canal room that we had envisioned. Our windows opened onto the apartment next door with laundry hanging out their windows. Our room was fairly comfortable compared to the rooms that the others in our group had. The continental breakfast was nice and the breakfast staff was quite pleasant. The two dinners that we had there were fair--nothing spectacular for sure. The staff at the front desk in the lobby was rude and not very helpful. The hotel is...... Read more

Worst Hotel Ever

I recently stayed in the Hotel Continental for a few days as part of a tour. I ended up leaving the tour a day early because the hotel was so bad. I paid approximately $500 extra (changing my plane ticket and paying for a water taxi) just so I could get out of there as fast as I could. So that should give you an idea of how bad it was. There was only 1 more day left in the tour but I literally could not spend one more night there. Everyone on my tour hated the hotel. It is not well maintained, the rooms are incredibly old fashioned and dirty, the staff was horrible, the lobby is tiny and not nearly as nice as the two nearby hotels which have full floor lobbies with mahagony counters...and cost the same...(yes, I tried to switch hotels but the others were booked). When we first arrived at the hotel we quickly found out that the air conditioning didn't work. We were told that it broke several days ago and a repairman should be here 'tomorrow'. Why wasn't he there several days ago when...... Read more
