I've just came back from Venice. Casa Verardo has been a surprise. Great location, great breakfast and great stay!
(price was good: I spent euro 186,00 for a luxury room on the 2nd floor)

Top Local Tips for Venice

Ir a Burano y a Verona Fuimos a la famosa isla de Murano, pero nos gustó mucho más Burano, con sus casas de colores. Si tenéis tiempo, vale la pena dedicar un día a ir a Verona. Está a 1 h. 30 min. en tren. Se sale desde la estación de Santa Lucía, en Venecia. Es la ciudad de Romeo y Julieta. Allí vale la pena visitar los Jardines Giusti, y toda la parte histórica de la ciudad, incluyendo la Arena, que es un gran circo romano. También se puede visitar la tumba de Julieta y su casa (supuestamente).

Basillica Vist the Treasury to see the relics...thorne from Christs crown, blood of Jesus, Milk from Mary, caskets where Saints relic were kept all for a few Euro. Also vist the St Marks area and see the altar screen describes as one of the most precious object on earth.

Trust your Instincts!!! I had planned how we would get to our hotel before we left Australia, we would get a boat to San Zaccaria. On arriving at the airport and asking for help, we were told that the next boat didn't go to San Zaccaria but we could get off at Arsenale which was only a short walk to our hotel. Well, trying to carry your suitcase through hordes of people at Carnivale over a zillion bridges is no fun!!! On arriving the hotel, exhuasted, we found that if we had have waited for 20 minutes for the next boat, gotten off at San Zaccaria, we wouldn't have had to fight any crowds, or walk over any bridges at all!!! Moral of the story...Trust your Instincts!!!
