We had a great expierence with the staff here. They were helpful and professional, and the breakfast staff went out of their way to make a comfortable and friendly environment for our young daughter. We would reccommend the hotel on the basis of staff alone. Amenities are standard for a four star European hotel in a city where space is often limited.

The hotel is located at the beginning of the grand canal, away from the crowds. There are a number of transport and dining options near by. The breakfast selection was fair, but had the best capuccino i've ever tasted. The rooms are clean and comfortable. As an old world european 4 star hotel I thought it was very nice.

Top Local Tips for Venice

Transport Do not use the private water taxi's they are a rip off and can charge what ever they like. Use the water bus - they are great and are very prompt.

Water Bus Take the €12 day pass instead of a regular fare.

Ice-cream - Museum Modern Art - Bus Good Ice-cream: Geleteria Nico (street "Fondamenta Zattere", near the sea). Museum: Palazzo Grassi (modern art, contemporary art). From airport Marco polo to Venice Station: take blue bus ATVO for 3 Euros (comfortable, place for luggage, 20-30 minutes, direct) or orange bus ACTV for 1 Euro (not direct, a lot of people).
