i was charged 300 euros per night by thomas cook kolkata.it was centrally located but small 2 star hotel with no restaurant.anastasia is exaactly an excellent 2 star besides st marks square.however di fficult to locate initially.it was clean but howhotel become 3 stars without a kitchen or restaurant!

Very pleases with room, bathroom, & breakast. Excellent location!, close to ACTV (Local Waterbus) and Alilaguna (Boat to Airport) and St. Mark.
I will stay in this hotel again. The only things is setback, they should provide amenities like irons :)

Top Local Tips for Venice

water taxis are very expensive Finding any hotel in Vencie can be an adventure. Most water transport comes to St. Marks Square and the adventure starts through the old narrow streets and canal bridges. A water taxi can take you closer but 100 Euros one way is a bit dear. But then, it is Venice, and it is unque.

Transfer to hotel, and general location Use vaporetto from Airport, it is 12 Euro/person, get off at the san marco station, your hotel is 20-30 meters away. I have seached the hotel address from GPS, it showed a different location, so call the hotel's reception, they will briefly tell you where the hotel is, it is actually very simple. One important thing to mention about the restaurants : They have touristic menus for 14-17-19 euros, it is better to take them as service charge bla bla is all included, otherwise, they add lots of additional charges for sitting in the restaurant, for the bread they serve with the meal, occupation of the table, breathing the air etc etc, they are all in itallian so you may not understand, for example : you think you will pay 20 Euro, but the bill is 50. Most of the restaurants are closed at 22:00, but you can try the ones behind the Rialto Bridge, they are open till midnight.

Map! By a map from the tourist office. For two or three euros you will get a map and booklet. The booklet contains a description of all the main landmarks. The landmarks are numbered and the number is displayed on the map. Venice is a great city for walking and strolling. The map and numbered landmarks were a great way to orient yourself if you got lost!
