- you pay for the location not the standard of hotel. 230 Euros is far too expensive for what you get
- small rooms
- no iron
- no bath, shower only
- no tea or coffee in your room. You have to ring down for it.... it took 3 attempts for us to get any, and when it did come you got a boiled kettle with no lead to re boil it, and vending machine plastic cups.
- breakfast is not that great either
In summary Venice amazing place shame about this hotel and I certainly will not be recommending this to anyone.

Top Local Tips for Venice
Harry's Bar Absolute rip-off don't waste your time going there. It is extremely overrated, a basic room with unfriendly staff and basically a production line on the bar producing 100s of Belinis at over inflated prices. Find a nice local bar instead, there are loads around and much more friendly.
Vaporettos We bought a 48 hour pass (26 Euros) and used the vaporettos constantly. If you take more than 4 individual trips, you break even (6.50 Euros each). We actually took a ride out to the end of the line and used it the morning we left to take us one stop to catch the airport shuttle. If you are riding the vaporettos a lot, there is no need for an expensive gondola ride--they are fun to look at and take pictures of.
THE FOOD IN VENICE IS A DISASTER Venice is a very expensive place to stay and to eat. The food quality is not what you pay for. For a single dinner consisting of two plates spaghetti and a small salad and 2 cokes we had to pay about 35euros. The portions were really small - they call spaghetti primi piatti or first course. Each dish costs about 8-12 euros and the variety of spaghetti and pizzas is really small. Stay away of restaurants run by chinese (the pizzas they offer have very little cheese). In my country Greece for that price you get a much better quality and quantity. The only decent restaurant we found was near Rialto Bridge.Coming from San Marco you cross the bridge and you pass all the restaurants along the rialto. Then you turn right and you get to a small square after about 50m. A comparatively cheap and delightful restaurant is there owned probably by Italians. The only acceptable food we ate in Venice.
