My stay at this hotel (4 nights) spoilt my visit to Venice. On arrival my room was tiny, damp with patches of damp on the wall and smelled very badly indeed. I complained but was told it was to do with recent flooding and I could not be moved to another room. On night two they had obviously done something about the smell which turned out to be plumbing that hadn't been disinfected and an air condition unti that leaked and soaked the carpet. Worst of off was the noise. If you're a single traveller avoid Room One at all costs. It is directly above the front door and reception. I was kept awake until 1 or 2 in the morning by the use of the night bell to to attract the night porter (whom on night one kept me awake by snoring all night)and Venice wakes up at about 4am anyway. In the end I had to resort to sleeping tablets. There is nowhere in the 'hotel' to sit and relax. My television didn't work properly. The so called 18th century Venice style decor is a joke. All in all it was a very poor experience. Space is at a premium in Venice so I have no complaints about the dark and difficult to find location. That's Venitian life for everyone, but his place should not be called an hotel; it is just a guesthouse and a poor one at that. Three star my ***! 3 out of 10.

Pleasant and quiet

This hotel is initially quite difficult to find, my partner and I came across it by accident.

The rooms are very pleasant and quiet if a little compact and the air conditioning is a godsend.

The breakfast is nice and the young lady who waits on you is very sweet and accommodating.

My only minor complaint is that the reception staff (I assume the managers) are very unfriendly and can come across as being quite rude, but it may be unintentional or just their way.

Otherwise overall a nice hotel for a reasonable price

Other options Consider staying at the Lido and commuting to Venice by ferry, water bus or water taxis. Offers the option of the city or the beach with more reasonable pricing.

Weather We stayed early April and it was grey and overcast the entire time. We had rain almost every day!

Tons of People With the numerous stops from cruise ships, Venice is extremely crowded!! Be prepared to stand in long lines unless you hook up with a tour group in the summer. It's worth it! Venice is a wonderfully awesome city!!!
