Top Local Tips for Venice

eating in venice... a painful point....as we all know, venice is incredibly expensive. avoid everything as close as 2 miles to san marco square, or u'll have to cry! we had dinner in the Tronchetto area, and the food was very good for a reasonable place. even the water. where we were (near the station) a bottle of water (50 cl) 1 euro, near san marco 1,80 - 2,50 euros. oh my god. take plenty of water with u, venice is very very hot and overcrowded, u'll need to drink a lot. don't trust too much the "tourist menu" for as mush as 14 euros!!!!!!!! they're always serving the worst pasta (with tomato sauce) and the worst meat (cotoletta). I'm italian, I know that for that price u can get something much better! for 16 euros I had an outstanding mixed grill (fish)....stay away from the centre, u'll get the best

Go by foot. Do not cross by the tragetto from bus station to the hotel . To get to the hotel by foot all you need to do is cross an iron bridge and walk a straight road for five minutes to the hotel.
