Top Local Tips for Venice

Get the passes If you are staying in Venice or on the mainland for more than 3 days it is great value to get a travel pass. This gives you transport to and from Venice and unlimited water taxi rides. YOu only have to validate your ticket the first time you use it.

Get the Tourist Card . . . Buy the tourist card available 24hour, 36 hours or more. This is your pass to use the Waterbus (Vaporate) and Busses within the vicinity of Venice. Visit other islands, like Murano (glass factory), Burano (lace factory), Lido. Wear comfortable shoes for walking -- Venice has lots of hidden side streets and it is sooooo amazing what you'll find within these streets.

Tickets cost If you buy bus tickets, buy them from the local Tabacchino, they only cost 1.10 Euro. If you buy them on the bus, they will cost 1.80 Euros. For the Gondola, the cost is for about 40 minutes for 2 people, but if you go with other couples or friends, the cost is still the same and you can spread it around the people.
