As soon as we arrived we were welcomed by friendly but polite staff. The day staff particularly had good english. The hotel is in a perfect location - tucked into a private corner it feels very local not touristy at all. But it is only 2 minutes walk to the grande canal waterbus stop. The room was very comfortable and clean. Beds were just right for us - not too hard or too soft. There were extra blankets in the wardrobe but we didnt need them or the heating which we could control ourselves. The breakfast was very good with teas, coffees, hot chocolate, fruit juices, water, fresh croissants and rolls, ham, cheese, jams etc. it kept us going a long time. The staff recommended a local restaurant which was so good we went back the next night! Even when we needed to check out at 6am the staff were friendly and polite. A fantastic find.
