A very pleasant hotel!

This is a very pleasant and traditional family owned hotel with some interesting paintings on the walls. We had very nice rooms with a balcony overlooking the little canal in front. The bathrooms were quite smart and in good order and the rooms were very clean and tidy. It's in a good location and pleasantly walkable with wheels on luggage from the main water station. An ideal place to walk out to the friendly local bars and restaurants on the main streets and pedestrian areas of the Venice Lido. The hotel did a good rate and the buffet breakfast was fine. Nice flat area for walking or cycling around near the hotel and along the little tree lined roads.The staff were helpful and friendly and there is a little bar where you can also have a drink at night once you get back.A very good place for a holiday atmosphere and we would go back again.

buying your vaperetto tickets get a ticket for as many days travel as you require on the vaperettos as soon as you can, preferably at the airport. These tickets are such good value for money and save you so much hassle.

Beautiful City Venice was my favorite city in Italy. I was not prepared for the amount of tourist that would be there even in late Summer. Over 15 million tourists every year, considering that there are only 120,000 residents in Venice this accounts for much of the attitudes and general disdain towards us tourists, from the shop keepers, restraunt owners, taxi boat attendants, etc. Basically, with a never ending stream of money carrying tourists, they do not need to provide high levels of customer service. Many were down-right-rude towards us. However the city itself made up for most of this. We were told that a gondolla ride would be expensive but we were still shocked to hear many drivers wanted 200 Euros for a nice tour of the main attractions along the Canal. We were able to negotiate a lower price by going in the afternoon vs the evening (their peak time). This was the highlight of Venice for us, a must do for everyone experiencing Venice for the first time. A fantastic city!
