Nice but smelling

The hotel is ok. It is nice, near to apstoli square and Rialto, 15 minutes to San Marco if you don't get lost! The rooms are nice but there is really a very bad smell. The toilet smells fine but the room smells of dirty toilet, i wondered and asked if it was only our room, but they said, all rooms smelled the same, and the smell comes from toilets.

Top Local Tips for Venice

72 hour ticket We bought the 72 hour ticket for the vaporetto. Although this is seldom checked we felt the freedom to hop on and off the boat without thinking.

Top Tips 1, bring comfortable walking shoes 2. the queues for the major attractions were much shorter after lunch 3. haggle!

Beware of fines! The big water buses are an economical and efficient way to get around. Be sure to stamp your ticket prior to boarding at the self serve yellow box. If your ticket is not time stamped the transportation police will issue fines and demand instant payment. They seem to target the unknowing tourists. Fortunately, I had just stamped my ticket prior to boarding.
