Go for the scampi It's a specialty of the area. What's called "scampi" in the U.S. is not scampi but shrimp. So if the menu offers it, ask the waiter whether it's fresh or frozen. If it's fresh, go for it. Grilled, fried, raw, it's divine.
Cipriani Hotel - Cips Club For my birthday, we caught the private water taxi over to the Cipriani Hotel on Guidecca Island to have dinner. The drinks in the piano bar are expensive, but the location and whole experience justify it. We had dinner at Cips club, outside table with a superb view of the lagoon and San Marco by night. Food was excellent, service attentive and discreet. Water taxi to return to the main island transports you back when you are ready. The perfect romantic treat and highly recommended.
