Top Local Tips for Venice

travelling round venice Get a 3 or 5 day pass for churches, museums and especially water busses. Be very careful with pickpockets. They are very good. Make sure you have a hidden money belt

location of hotel walk down the street immediately to the left of the restaurant in the plazza where this hotel is located...about 30 yards down that street off to your left is the entrance to the hotel.

from the airport Go straight to the Vaperetto ticket desk opposite the exit to get tickets for the bus and then the water bus. This is by far the cheapest way to travel. Catch the bus directly outside the exit which will take you to the main bus terminal. When you get off everyone seems to head into different directions but to get to the water bus stops head away from the buildings and across the bus parking bays and head down along to the canal. No one told us this and we had to 'follow the crowd'!!!
