The front desk english speaking staff were great! The non-english speaking staff were also VERY accomodating and helpful and tried very hard to understand what we needed or wanted. We planned on 1 day on Turin and stayed for 3 as our stay at Dogana Vecchia was so relaxed. The GPS helped a lot in finding it. We left the car there while we walked to everything in Turin.

We'd definitely go there again.

We went with Corin and Nicola in July 05 and just want to confirm what they've said - very friendly and helpful staff, a lovely building with huge airy hallways, fantastic dining room with big sofas at one end, in a great spot, and with nice breakfasts. We'd definitely go there again.

Well positioned hotel in centre, close to restaurants and late shopping. Very friendly staff. Limited car parking for guests but difficult to find entrance due to maze of narrow one-way streets.

Great Hotel in quiet road, recent renovation does not extend to all areas but this adds to the stately feel. Rooms OK but hard beds although have air con and TV. Breakfasts good with a selection of continental stuff. Best of all are the location which is great for the old quarter of Turin and the very freindly staff - highly recommended!!

Top Local Tips for Turin

Getting to Turin/Torino, Italy You can fly into Torino's airport, usually after changing flights in another European city. We looked into this option and found it very expensive. Another alternative is to fly into Milan's Malpensa Airport. Air One has a new direct flight from Boston Logan Airport to Malpensa--it is much cheaper than using one of the US flag carriers. From Milan-Malpensa Airport to Torino, you have two options for transportation: take the train into Milan proper and transfer to the train to Torino, OR take the bus directly from Malpensa Airport to Torino. The bus runs several times per day, and is only 2 hours vs. 3 hours by train. Most Turinese recommended the bus route and that's what we did. The price of a one way ticket is 18 euros. Purchase ticket in the airport terminal at Bus Express and the bus will drop you off at 3 locations in Torino. For the return trip, you usually go to the other side of the street from where you were dropped off. Bus company is SADEM for more info online.
