Top Local Tips for Taormina

From Catania airport to Taormina (& return) Arrange a transfer when you book - if the tour company doesn't do so, get the hotel to - unless your hotel is close to the bus terminal in Taormina. In which case it is worth getting the airport bus, even if it means hanging around the airport for a while, as it costs only €5.30 a head and takes much the same time to travel along the same motorway.

Bus service is very good Bus service is very good. You may prefer to use public transportation as the roads are very narrow and extremely windy. I am glad I was not driving!

mount etna take the opportunity to vist this magnificent volcanic mountain. Take a pair of trainers, light fleece and trousers. It does get very windy up there and the temperature can drop. You can take in amazing views of Etna from Taormina a sight to be sen at twilight!!!!
