boat We hired a little boat with an outboard motor for the day from a boatyard in Belgirate, which is about 5 km from stresa.The cost was 250euros from 10am till 6pm which although pricey, enabled us to go around the lake, stopping where we liked (although not on the islands) for a beer, lunch and a swim in the lake. Definitely better than the tour boats.

We went for 11 days in August rained for 5 Rained for 5 days although only 1 was continious
