Top Local Tips for Spoleto
Spoleto Festival This takes over the town ine early July. There are excellent events but the town is disrupted and there is stage paraphernalia in the Duomo square which does spoil it somewhat
Taking a car to Palazzo Leti If you are taking your own car or a hired car to Palazzo Leti Spoleto then be prepared for a nerve-shredding experience getting in and out of the tiny car park. When arriving at Spoleto you take the Spoleto Sud turn off from the main road and to be fair the Palazzo Leti is signposted but Spoleto itself is an ancient Umbrian hill town and the streets are very narrow and for many of them it is not helped by the position of machinery in these narrow streets as part of the restoration of many of the buildings. Turning in an out of the Leti car park is a torture and so bad was it for me that I eventually stopped using the car park at the hotel and parked up at the Castle area and walked back the 100 yards or so to the hotel. That was far easier than trying to negotiate the turn in to the hotel car park.
