It was really pleasing to be remembered by the Reception and Restaurant staff and nice to see so many familiar faces amongst the staff - a testament to the good management of the Hotel.
This year we had very pleasant sea view rooms with balcony (its definitely worth paying the supplement!)and Mena serviced our rooms immaculately.
As always the bar/pool and restaurant staff were efficient, good humoured and great fun.
We\'ve had the opportunity to stay in many different resorts throughout Europe and Conca Park and the Amalfi Coast tops our bill for a relaxing week away. We shall return!!!

. We did not have to pay for a fridge but did pay for the save but you have to in most hotels these days. Over all the conca park is an excellent hotel and well worth going half bored. I would recommned the hotel and would stay here again.

But worst of all was all the hidden extras that should not be added on for a so called 4* hotel, ie having to pay for the key to the empty fridge in the room, paying for use of sun chairs, sun towels, and the use of the room safe.
On the plus side is good sea views if you're lucky, the interior has had a make over and some parts look quite stylish. and the refurbished pool is quite nice. But as already stated I can not see where it got that fourth star!

Historical Traveller Reviews of Conca Park Hotel
Lovely hotel, but the food left a lot to be desired!
from Mad-Maz999We had a great room with a seperate bedroom for our son which was side facing towards the cliffs, we were lucky to have good views of Sorrento. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were cleaned every day. The tunnel we had heard so much about was a feat of engineering and provided a very welcome shelter from the hot sun when returning from sight seeing trips. The only down side was the food; it was nearly always cold as the staff went to great pains to serve it from the kitchen onto trolleys and then to your table. The restaurant manager (Jim Bowen lookalike) was quite rude and abrupt. There was a choice of 3 dishes from the dinner menu - pasta, meat and a vegetarian option (but no childrens menu) and the sweet was predictably ice cream or fruit. The breakfast was a simple buffet style usually fruit, cakes, cereals, toast etc, with some days having bacon or sausage.
I would recommend this hotel but pay the extra for a front facing room as the cliff facing rooms were really dark and you miss the atmosphere of the hotel.
room with a view
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe new marble tunnel entrance is very impressive as are the amazing views over the bay of naples. If you are lucky enough to have a room with a front facing balcony then you could not fail to be impressed.
The entire hotel is very clean and decorated to a very high standard. There are plenty areas where you can sit and relax either by the pool or in the front courtyard.
We found the food to be very tasty with a different menu each night. The staff were friendly and always ready to help. We never felt the need to eat out.
Sorrento itself is a beautiful part of Italy with lots of trips available.
We enjoyed trips to Capri and the Amalphi coast. There are lots of nice shops selling all sorts of leather goods and jewellery.
We will return to Sorrento again and will be booking the Conca park for a fourth time.
Happy overall!
from A TripAdvisor MemberConca Park is in a great position with all the front rooms having balconies overlooking Sorrento, the Bay of Naples and the volcano. You can reach the centre of town in about 5 minutes. The rooms were extremely clean - you couldn't fault the housekeeping staff.
Meals are 'a la carte' and the food is average. I had a few lovely meals and some which weren't good - each day tends to vary. We weren't impressed with the pool side cafe, open in the day, as there was hardly any choice, but it was October so maybe they are winding down. The bar area is atmospheric in the evenings with light music - it was never too loud, though I'm not sure what it would be like in the height of season.
Overall extremely happy with Conca Park.
Disappointed
from A TripAdvisor MemberOne of my party paid £120 to have a single occupancy. We were expecting just that, however, she was in a single room that could not have had another person in, so why pay that much extra when she was not taking a double room? The rooms facing the bay were extra and had a balcony. The room my friend was in faced a cliff wall with a very noisy air conditioning vent directly above.
The food was 'a la carte'. I'm a vegetarian and I got by, overall the food was disappointing, not particularly appertising and often not very warm. I found the waiter on occasions overfriendly and other times rude - a strange combination, seemed to depend on how many drinks you were ordering.
One thing I did find unacceptable was that on two occasions during the week, the outside areas, the lounge and the main bar were blocked off for private parties which went on to late in the evening and fireworks were let off without any warning. There was no prior warning about the parties, they only became apparant on going outside to find tables reserved and notices put up stating private parties. The areas were not seperated off they were simple the best parts of the communal areas inside and outside the hotel.
Despite the hotel being a 'four star' the sheets were not changed during a seven night stay although the cleanliness of the rooms and hotel was very good. The staff all spoke excellent English although sometimes could have been more helpful.
In summary, this is not a hotel I would return to if I ever returned to Sorrento.
We love Sorrento!!
from A TripAdvisor MemberWe stayed at the Conca Park Hotel and we'll definitely be staying there again.
We had a room with a balcony and sea view (which is limited but still a spectacular view all the same).
The staff were all lovely, apart from one of the waiters in the restaurant who was quite abrupt and rude- although we did find out on our last day that apparantly this is his "thing" and he's known as Basil Fawlty!! The food in the restaurant was very good, as we've stayed in a few hotels in the area on half board basis the meals at the Conca Park were definitely better then most.Every morning the breakfast was slightly different to the day before, and the cake selection changed each day too. As for the coffee, well I can only say it was one of the nicest cups I had each day!!
The hotel itself was very clean and well maintained.
The pool is lovely too (although a little cold!!),as others have mentioned, you do have to pay 5 Euros a day for a sunbed, we haven't had to pay in any other hotel in Sorrento and really this is a bit of a swizz.
Each night we had a few cocktails and sat out in the garden area which was really beautiful and candle lit.
The hotel is in a good location, very close to the centre of Sorrento, but far enough away to be peaceful.
On reading other reviews about the "Marble Tunnel"leading to the hotel I hadn't realised that this was a walk you had to undergo each day, and if you're laden with shopping and just eaten a big lunch it is quite daunting!! However there are staff at the bottom who may offer a lift up to the top.
As for Sorrento itself, well, we keep going back so it must have something!!
The food is out of this world, I have to mention the La Fenice restaurant which is close to the Conca Park - the staff were lovely and friendly and the food was to die for!!
Although we've never really had a bad meal at any restaurant.
Sorrento isn't a "touristy" sort of place and there aren't many English pubs or restaurants, which can only be a good thing, why go to one of the best culinary places in the world and eat Egg and Chips?
Reps usually guide you to certain shops and restaurants, especially the Pink Elephant or Lucky 7 store for Lemoncello and other alcohol, but there is a cheaper and nicer store called "Vino Inn" it's a family run shop and we've normally found them to be cheaper and more helpful than the others and will also deliver any of your purchases to your hotel.
All in all, we've had a fantastic holiday and can definitely recommend the Conca Park Hotel.
One for the ladies?!!
from A TripAdvisor MemberGreat location, shame about the food
from A TripAdvisor MemberThe Conca Park Hotel is in a great location, set back from the main road so at night it's quiet, but you are still close enough to walk to Sorrento's main square in 5-10 minutes.
The hotel itself is immacuately clean and we had a sea-view balcony room which is a must for the beautiful views across to the Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. The only thing that let it down was the food- 'school dinners' comes to mind, it was bland and tasteless, and numerous people commented on this during our stay (we also complained to the rep, as others had done, so there is hope for some improvement). After the first night we couldn't face eating there again so ate out every night afterwards- a recommendation is the 'Da Gigno' restaurant for a good meal in town. The only other negative was the lack of shade by the pool and in 37C heat you need it!
We took the Thompson excursions to Vesuvius and Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Almafi Coast which were good value and with fantastic, highly knowledgable guides. Then we caught the ferry to Capri and did that ourselves.
To sum up the Conca Park's location is what saves it and you will have the most wonderful holiday in Sorrento, just make sure you take extra money to cover the cost of eating out!
Fantastic hotel. Even better than 13 years ago
from A TripAdvisor MemberThis trip was a surprise birthday holiday and all the staff got involved in the surprise, they even provided a birthday cake which made the whole holiday one to remember for a long time. It is very nice to see that a family run hotel can still go from strength to strength, even with competition from larger companies. I would definately recommend this hotel to any one. We can't wait to return to sorrento and the conca park.
To fall in LOVE
from A TripAdvisor MemberExcellent Hoiday
from Maisha23The food was excellent with plenty of choice and lots of handsome waiters to look at! In the evening the waiters served you and for breakfast it was buffet style with again plenty of choice.
There is alot of seating both in and outside of the hotel all very comforatable. The adult pool remains in the sun for the whole of the day and there are plenty of deckchairs to sit on. The sunbeds cost E5 so we didn't use them.
The hotel is situated about a 10 minute walk from the main square and very close to shops, restaurants etc.
We chose to do our own excursions to Capri, Positano, Naples and Pompei and by doing so saved £75 each. The train, bus and ferries are all very safe and cheap.
Overall we all had an excellent holiday
Top Local Tips for Sorrento
Restaurants Defo eat in Ristoronte S Antonino Pizzeria - we are holding our reception there in September and the food and service is outstanding - we went twice in the space of two days and for a snack and bottle of wine in the afternoon visit the Mona Lisa the girls there are lovely, pleasant, chatty and helpful - wonderful
SPECIAL DEALS before to enter in a taxi ask always how much is the rate !!
Attractions Don't pay out excessive sums for organised coach andboat trips.Much cheaper to do your own thing and use public transport.
