Located within 2 mins walk from the Piazza Tasso on the main steet this hotel offers great value. Its certainly not the Ritz but its fresh and clean and very friendly. The hotel does not have a pool but you can use another hotels pool which is a few minutes walk away. I wouldn't bother with half board as an option as the food is (was ?) quite plain and there are loads and resteraunts in sorrento why eat in. Verdict good value, well located and clean - a good budget option.

Top Local Tips for Sorrento

Pompeii half day trips We went on a 2 hour tour with a guide and wasn't impressed with Pompeii. It might be worth your while getting the train yourself and spending the whole day their. Take plenty of sun cream and water. There must have been better areas to view, butoverall was disappointed. Maybe look on the internet and check what is available to see on the site at Pompeii. All the guides take you to the brothel - very overrated. If you have been to Tunisia and visited Dougga, as we have, this was far more impressive, so save your money and don't go to Pompeii. Apparently Herculaneum is the better place to visit rather that Pompeii. I was told by someone "If you haven't been to Pompeii, don't bother go straight to Herculaneum as this is the better site", I wish I had listened.

Amalfi drive v Boat trip to Amalfi The reports from those in the hotel who went on the Amalfi drive were that although stunning, it is a very long drive and expensive. We , on the advice of other travellers, caught a ferry from the port in Sorrento to Amalfi. It cost €8.50 each way and €2 for children. It took about an hour to get to Amalfi and the scenery on the way up was incredible. It was probably our favourite part of our holiday ( apart from the ice cream!)
