The staff were wonderful, very helpful. We had our young son with us and the staff were fantastic with him. The food was excellent enjoyed by all three. Overall, the holiday was brilliant.

Great hotel, no complaints at all. Large clean rooms ensuite, pool and jacuzzi, lovely breakfast, friendly staff. Few mins walk to main centre of Sorrento. Highly reccommend it! Would stay there again.

We found the Ascot very reasonable. Rooms are big, clean, ensuite. Prob best to ask for pool view as we faced street and scooters were bit noisy but windows have shutters.
Pool and jacuzzi lovely. plenty of sunbeds at pool.
Breakfast very nice and large selection. No complaints at all from the ascot. within walking distance to main streets.

Top Local Tips for Sorrento

Pompeii and Capri a must see Book trips localy as they are much cheaper than through travel companies. Trip to Capri was 65 Euros with Thomson and 25 Euros when we booked the boat ourselves.

Use public transport or get ripped off Every taxi driver, bar, restaurant, shop, tour guide, toilet attendant etc etc is demanding a tip for absolutely everything. Expect to get overcharged and stung if you're a tourist so make sure you avoid this where possible by using public transport. Loads of tours are available to Capri, Vesuvius and Pompeii but you might as well get the local bus, train or boat and save yourself enough money to then spend £10 on two orange juices in Capri.

Eating out Try the Hotel Rivage's restaurant across the road it has an unexpectedly great view across the bay, nice food and good prices. Unhurried, so take your time eating and watch the sunset over the bay.
