We always try to stay at Locanda Garibaldi when we visit Siena. We have stayed there three times and enjoyed it more every time. Very clean, and in a great location. marcello doesn't speak English, but we were able to communicate. Also- excellent food (his wife cooks).

Small, simple but scrupulously clean and the proprietor and his Wife couldn't be more helpful even though they do not speak English. Food in the restaurant was simple, but delicious.

A Hidden Treasure

My husband and I pride ourselves on being able to travel and not spend a fortune. We were in Italy for two weeks in April. We stayed in Rome, Venice and Siena. While in Siena we stayed at 'Locanda Garibaldi', or Garibaldi Hotel. Marcello, the host and I believe, his wife were very delighful and couldn't have been more helpful. We paid $70 Euros for the room per night and it was a minute walk to the Il Campo. The rooms were so clean you could eat off of the floor. Downstairs, they also run a small restaurant, which we ate at every night. The food was delicious, reasonably priced and was full every evening (lots of locals, closed on Saturday). We stayed for five nights and wished it could have been more. Would recommend highly.
