Taking the Bus The bus station is a mere 10-15 minute walk away. There are many buses that come frequenly; the bus drivers were friendly and helpful.

Wine and snacks Go to the local wine/cheese shops and engage them in conversations about local wine and fare. They will pack you a meat and cheese sampler and you can pick up a local wine and then picnic in the late afternoon before an evening dinner. It's a great way to inexpensively sample some great treats!

Not many taxis in Siena If you arrive in Siena by train, note that there are not always taxis waiting outside the station to take you to your hotel. It might be worth looking up the bus schedules so you're not stuck outside the station waiting and wondering when the next taxi will show up.
