Top Local Tips for Taormina

The resort The average age of the visitors to this resort seems to be about 55. There is little to do in this resort in terms of shopping or activities. We saw almost everything in the first day. The food was fair but expensive for what you got and is definitely better and cheaper at home. Overall, I would not recommend this resort and would advise people to go to Sorrento instead - which my brother went to and found wonderful. Definitely not the good food and wine, romantic week I had hoped for.

Train Station There is a train station down the street.

Stay in the main part of town Your stay in Taormina will be much more pleasant if you stay closer to the main part of the city. There is lots of shopping, restaurants and historical sites in the main part of the city if you are vacationing and plan tourists activities.
