Top Local Tips for Taormina

Count Your Change I don't know if it was because we were Americans but I would tell people to count their change. On numerous occasions (two of which happened at our hotel) people tried to short change us. Also, at the beach we were quoted one price for chairs, umbrella and towels but when I asked for my change, we were told a different number...very...very...very shady people...so becareful when paying or discussing prices for things.

Must eat at... Go to the Dei Archo Cappucini (turn left just before the Messina arch and up the short hill, turn right and the restuarant is just on the right hand side after Tiramisu) for an amazing meal. Be warned you must book a couple of days in advance but it is well wort the wait, mainly occupied by locals with great seafood dishes. Be prepared for your meal to take 2-3 hours, as they dont hurry you (you wont want to be hurried though...)

Volcano Island Don't go there! the mud baths are a puddle and there is no bubbleing spa like ocean!
