My husband and i have just returned from a two week break in Taormina and we have had a fantastic time. The Continental Hotel was first class.The staff and management were so helpful, friendly and could not do enough for the guests.The rooms were spotless and we had daily maid service even the Porter Michele was very helpful and kind. The food was enjoyable and the views from the hotel terrace was spectacular.This hotel is in an ideal location for sightseeing good restaurants,shops and the beautiful beaches. I will be booking the same hotel for next year. Our holiday rep did a great job by giving us good advice and was always there if he was needed. Ciao Taormina...a presto.

Top Local Tips for Taormina

Food Excelent food, but very very expensive! try eating in small caffe's or pizza places. Potatoes, and vegetables are extra orders... so son't be fooled as i was.

Good shoes Wear good shoes and be prepared to climb stairs and hills wherever you go. If you wear heels, choose big chunky heels so they don't get stuck in the cobblestones. Make sure you take advantage of the location by visiting Mt. Etna, especially after a good snow. Remember the higher elevation requires layering your clothes.

Taormina, charming and elderly Great for just browsing around, yes go and have another coffee or icecream, but bring plenty of money. The botanical gardens are well worth a visit, there is lots of historical interest in the whole of the town, it is a photographers paradise and there a many views of Etna and the coast.
