Top Local Tips for Siracusa

the restaurants on the Duomo piazza are really bad and touristy just go down any of the side streets behind the Duomo and you will enjoy much better food and service!

Taxis in Sicily We, unfortunately had to use taxis a few times while travelling in sicily, and in my opinion was ripped off every time. 15 Euros for going a mile up the road!! Stick to the buses if you can or better still walk..

The bunker underneat the Duomo Next to the Duomo is an entrance to the bunkers from World War 2, a big underground complex, where the citizens from Siracusa stayed during allied bombings from the Americans and British. It runs all the way down to the seaside, where the exit is. Worth a visit!
