Top Local Tips for Scala

Carry toilet paper! Besides bringing a Euro friendly cell phone (big mistake not having one esp. since our baggage was delayed 4 full days!) pack some toilet paper in your bag when you walk around Amalfi proper. By mid-day, many restaurants and cafes are sans paper and it's quite annoying, unsanitary. I'm no germaphobe but it makes one take pause when you consider: how do the cooks, waitors wipe themselves with no paper. Makes Employees Must Wash Hands even more imperative!
