Hotel Soleado is good value for money

Stayed at the Hotel Soleado after staying at an Unimpressive hotel next door. In comparison the Soleado is a much better value for money. The rooms were modern, clean and twice the size of those in neighboring hotels. Our room had twin beds, a sofa, a spare bed, minibar, T.V., Air Conditioning and a larger than average bathroom. The swimming pools are great - small but sufficient. The terrace is a sun trap so sun lovers can enjoy lazing around the pool, parasols and sun beds are free of charge.
The Breakfast was very simple as are most Hotels along the Via Lido and consist of Croisants, breads ,jams, ham and cheese, hot and cold drinks and fruit enough to tide you over till lunch time.
On our departure we went to reception to hand back our keys (our flight was late evening) the hotel manager very kindly said we could keep the room free of charge until 5pm... fabulous generosity and kindness. I would recommend this Hotel. It was great for families and groups of friends alike as you can get 4 people comfortably in a room. Our room had a balcony with a fabulous Sea view.
The beautiful beach is just cross the road and the wonderful walk down the promenade to the old town of Alghero is a very pleasant 15 minutes and something not to be missed as you have the white sand beach and the marina to look at as you walk.
There are some fab restaraunts in Alghero, Bella Napoli is my favourite.
Can't wait to go back.

Worst service ever experienced!

I have nothing positive to say about our experience staying at Hotel Soleado in Alghero. That evening we walked the short distance into the old town and had a lovely meal out. Only to realise on our way back to the hotel that we could not find our room key. We advised the reception and were bollocked with the most hideous abuse from the reception staff and the owner. It was totally uncalled for, so over the top, and the worst show of customer service I have ever seen. We were told that we would have to sleep in the hotel foyer! I have never seen such inhospital service and would not recommend anyone staying here.

Good location, spacious rooms

Stayed here for three nights and thought hotel was good value for money. The room was very clean and spacious and the balcony was a bonus. Remote controlled air con great and swimming pool fun. Location - across road to beach. Lovely stay.

Top Local Tips for Alghero

travel, food and beach A bus service runs from the airport to the centre and a taxi will cost 20 euros, explore the old town as here you will find great restaurants and wine, local wine 6 euros a litre. The beach is shallow and good for kids.

Boat trip Good boat trip from Alghero harbour along the north eastern coast for the whole day that included a meal on board and several stops to bathe either from the boat or on a beach. Cost 40 euro each, and provided a chance to see the beautiful coastline.

Meter of Pizza Come out of the hotel and turn right - walk for about 5 minutes and you will arrive at the famous "Pizza al Metro" - good quality restaurant, reasonably priced serving a metre of pizza!!!
