Must take Take Mosquito cream and a plug in Mosquito repellent, when its hot and humid, there are hundreds of them around!

not cheap in the old town in the cobbled streets dont expect good food even for £50 for a meal for two with house wine. This is strictly tourist food, not what you'd expect from a good Italian restaurant

Grotto of Neptune If you only have the time to do one thing then do this. It's Euros10 each from the marina for the return sea crossing, then another Euros10 each to get into the grotto. It's a limestone stalagmite/stalactite chamber with the usual weird and wonderful shapes. Takes an hour by boat to get out there and then you get to walk across a little plank (with sides but rising and falling with the boat) to get into the grotto. It certainly got the adrenalin going! It is possible to see dolphins while doing the crossing. Good views of the cliffs and Alghero.
