Top Local Tips for Santa Margherita Ligure

Pizzeria Delfino has great pizza If you're looking for great pizza in Santa Margherita, look no further (don't worry, they don't serve any dolphin). We stopped in on our first night. The place was very busy, and it seemed that it was primarily locals. There are only about six chairs for sitting down so get it to go and find a spot along the water to feast. It's on Via Cavour about 2 blocks from the main roundabout at the center of town. 5euro gets you a 16-inch neapolitan-style pizza or calzone.

Definitely get help from your Hotel if you are buying Train Tickets Go ahead and ask your hotel for their help in the case you need to reserve tickets for a certain destination. If your Italian isn't the sharpest get someon who speaks fluent english at the hotel to help you get to where you need to go. We made the mistake of not doing this and there was miscommunication between the ticket agent and us who in return sold us the wrong train tickets. It ended up working out but took almost a day out of our schedule traveling since we had to back track.

Location is easy walking--forego the taxi A short walk gets you anywhere. You have to walk down stairs or a windy street. So if you do not have a lot of luggage and are mobile you can make the trip.
