Top Local Tips for Santa Margherita Ligure

Amalfi Coast If you plan to take a boat trip down the Amalfi Coast to visit all the little towns. You might thing about using St. Marghertia as your base, visit all the towns, and then come back, get your bags, and take the train to your next destination. We found it ver cumbersome lugging our bags with us (even though we packed light) and it just was not as much fun climging steps with bags as it would have been without them, just to save a couple of hours going back to St. Margherita.

Antique market We were fortunate enough to stumble across an antique market in one of the streets near the hotel. Apparently they take place on the first Sunday of the month and go all day till about 7pm. I picked up some wonderful old jewellery, and part of the fun was haggling with the vendors. An amazing array of items, not just jewellery.

Driving Watch out for the narrow roads if you are driving a large car.
